New Works on Land :

1. Fertilization to teak tree using cage manure still conducted and will finished at the end of this month. This fertilization is done periodically every 6 months,so growth of teak more optimal. Fertilize to be spread with minimum distance 25 cm from tree or under external leaf coronet from crop, encircling crop or also countersinked with deepness 20-30 cm.
2. Routine pruned to new branches at teak tree using special knife
3. Spraying insecticides to control caterpillar attack and grasshopper used active Decis with Triflumuron 25%, with dose 1-2 cc in 1 liter water.
4. Clearing the grass and ground cover all around teaks area every day also spraying roundup to kill seageagrass.
5. Making small Gazebo at Orange plantation to shelter and observe that plantation.
6. Installing stones at road near house-2.

General Condition of Land :

There was raining almost everyday and teaks growing very well.

On update Village :

Cibening society are working together repaired the road that was broken by water.

On update Guardians :

Some of the guardians’ families were sick last weeks but they cured already and they are healthy now.

Mr.Jonathan Curtis as Project Leader of GoldTeak paid a visit to Cibening.Checking the general condition of the land and controlling around teaks plantation also checking condition of the Cibening guardians.

Regular maintenance to the land, and preparing to add fertilizer.

Generally all teak trees are in good condition.

It is rainy season so the guardian is doing some extra roofing.

New Works on Land:

1. Workers do spraying by using periodical insecticide to control caterpillar attack, insect and grasshopper. Insectide being applied is Curacron or decis, active barium triflumuron 25 %, each with dose 5-10 cc in 5 liters water. Till now, have never met insect attack or caterpillar seriously. But, this problems require attention to arrest pest attack which more hard. In the beginning of this rainy season usually there are caterpillar attack and proven some trees have started attacked.
2. Workers do making and dig the holes 15-20 cm all around teak trees and fruits for preparation periodic fertilization in the early of this rains.
3. Aqueduct from project to the village was improved, this to prevent erosion and floods.

General Condition of Land:

Condition of the existing soil in Cibening is less friable because the food/nutrient in the soil incomplete again. Hence it required fertilization in the early rainy season at this November 2007.

If the action of fertilization to add material/ soil nutrient is not done soon, so teak plants or fruits will not be able to grow perfectly.

Soil being desired by crop is having structure friable; there is pore space which can be filled by ground water and air. Ground water and air are very importance for growth crop root.

This situation hardly race growth of soil microorganism and it is important in process of decay of organic material in soil. Therefore, to improve this soil structure suggested to be given organic and un-organic fertilizer periodically.

On update Guardians:

One of our guardian names is Ajat sick and has been brought to hospital to be cured.

New Works on Land:

1. Worker is continuing routine spraying to teak trees and fruits by using insecticide to kill caterpillars, roundup to eradicate seagegrass and antracol to prevent existence of mushroom at the crop.
2. The garden workers are continuing sweeping of grasses is around teak trees also fruits. One of the workers applies grass mowing machine for sweeping of the grass.
3. Worker do cutting of new young leaf emerging at teak plants which this for teak growth.
4. Workers do allotment is around teak trees and fruits with size 1 m x 1 m.
5. Another 2 houses for guardian would completed this week.

General Condition of Land:

Condition of soil at project have started drought because dry season.

On update Village:

Public Cibening is continuing activity to improve road to Cibening every Friday.

On update Guardians:

All workers are healthy.

New Works on Land:

Workers do periodical spraying to 15.400 teak and fruit trees with insecticide, herbicides and fungicide because there are some caterpillar attack teak leaf also found some fungi at teak trees.

Worker is continuing clearing the grasses around teak also fruits trees. One of guardian using grass machine cutter for this clearing.

Worker do cutting of emerging young leaf at new teak tree which planted on December 2007, this addressed to quicken trees growth.

All workers made compartment around teak tree and fruit with size 1 m x 1 m.

One of the new guardians house will be finished this week and another 2 houses still in progress.

Land condition is wet because there are still frequent raining everyday so teak and fruit trees are very good growing. 

On update Village:

We gave donation about Rp. 20.000.000 to Cibening societies. This is for improving the road to Cibening village and Cibening societies do working together to install some stones on road.

On update Guardians:

One of our guardians name is Oni was sick for almost 1 weeks and another are well.

GoldTeak Leadership visit Pilot Project II Cibening and observe the progress of community building and teak tree growth.

Generally the land condition is in good care.

There has been several shower of rain in the last few weeks and it is good for the nutrition of the plants.

The land guardian and family is well.

Ms. Stacy Kohmetscher as the General Manager of GoldTeak paid a visit to GoldTeak Pilot Project II Cibening. While checking the general condition of the land and teak trees, GoldTeak Leadership also provide books and stationary to local schools.

Petrolink as the World”s First Carbon Travel Neutral Service Company in the Oil & Gas Sector also contributing to the day. The staffs plant new teak trees as part of the Carbon Credit programme.
