At the end of March all work of planting has been completed and guardians started their work to maintain the land and take care of the young trees. There are several trees that can not stand with the weather and land humidity died and Goldteak has changed them, so all trees now in good condition. Average of the hight of the trees are between 40 to 70 cm.

For about 6 month, the young trees will be a priority in the maintaining program. Fertilizer and anti fungus become important thing should be provide in the land. 
Spraying can be done by modern or manual way, guardians also still use hoes, sickles, grass choppers to cut coarse grass. In the new land, the wild grass is not cut because the ground still need this grass to protect from eruption. For the sloop area, it is easy to be erupted when there is a big rain, not only soil but also stones.

The condition of the new road/track has been topped by stones in order not to be slippery. All guardians are in good condition, they are all healthy and energetic.

The guardians, supervisors and kampung head made a ceremony when the planting program finished.
The students are now preparing the final examination for the 6 grade.

The PUSKESMAS (local health center has sent medical officer to weigh the babies and check the mothers and the babies immunization.

Goldteak has opened another 20 ha at Cibening area, next to the previous area, the clearing has been done since January 2009. At this time Goldteak not only planted the teak trees but also fruit trees like durian, mango and oranges (about 5 ha). The Solomon teak has been chosen as it has the best quality and the best price in the world as well.

It was a challenge to Goldteak to plant the trees in the middle of February, there is still a lot of rain and the land was slippery. The seeding truck was skidded/slipped on the muddy and wed narrow road up the plantation.

Goldteak prepare a water supply by placed several water tanks in the new area and this can help the distribution of the water.

Goldteak has build another 2 houses for the guardians and 2 gazebos that can be used as a shelter during the day. The houses has completed with the electricity and water supply.

There are 1 supervisorand 7 guardians had been employed since the planting finished and they started to maintain the young trees.

General condition of the trees:
Some of  the seeding has been planted and the condition of the trees are good and healthy. The other trees are still waiting in the seeding nursery to be planted at the end of this Month or early March. 
The condition of the land is good, because it has opened and cleaned. One of the workers’ activity is to take care the holes before the seeding is taken from the polybag.

New Works on Land:

• Guardian Caci & Ajat are still doing spraying roundup by sprayer machine at teak areas where there’re many seageagrass growing at old project.
• Guardian Majun cutting high grass around teaks area by grass cutter machine assisting by Solihin guardian.
• Guardians; Maman, Jaji & Oleh doing clearing grass and weeding grass around fruits trees also teaks upper along main road at old project.
• Guardian; Parid, Aji, Suma & Abah undertake to take care of teak upside motor path also repairing teaks at land slides location which hit by land slides and clearing grass bothering teak at that area.
• Guardians; Kudil & Bana doing pruning to young branches at teaks.
• Guardian Kusnadi doing spraying antracol to kill any pest at fruits trees.

Activities at new project;

• The special workers still put the manure to planting holes for teak, Mahagony and Akasia at new land.
• The 2 guardian houses have been made and 1 house has been filled by new guardian and 1other by contract workers.
• The road to new house no.1 & motor track around new land has been done by special workers and now have been passed or used by motor cycle to bring any material like fertilizer, etc.
• Spraying seageagrass still doing by special team at new project.
• The basic fertilizer (Urea, SP-36 Kcl) & dolomite has been done to 200 Durian planting holes, 6000 teaks planting holes and the rest about 9.400 teaks hole plant and 2.200 for Mahagony and 2.200 for Acacia Mangium will be executed after the fund release from Goldteak.

General Condition of Land;

In general the condition of teak trees and fruits are in good condition.

On update Village

Cibening society working together to collecting stones to repair broken bridge hit by floods and the donation has been give by H. Apippudin for buying any materials like; 30 bags cement, iron, etc. This bridge is very importance for Cibening peoples also for Goldteak. Because if this bridge broken automatically cannot pass by truck or car to bring teak seed or other to the village and project. So this bridge to be done immediately. The planting time for Goldteak new project will be on February 2009.

On update Guardians:

• Wife of guardian Solihin has healthy after back from hospital.
• At this the raining season the guardians have planting paddy field, nut, and vegetables at fruits plantation.

New Works on Land:

• Guardian Caci & Ajat are still continuing spraying seageagrass with herbicides roundup on new and old project.
• Guardians; Suma, Maman, Jaji & Solihin are cleaning and cutting grass a long way motor track at the field and continuing regular fertilization to teaks with manure also sintetis fertilizer.
• Guardians; ” Worker Parid, Aji, Majun, Kusnadi & Ayah doing delivery fertilizer to every teaks.
• Guardians; Kudil & Bana doing pruning to young branches at teaks.

Activities at new project:

• The special workers are still making holes for the teak at new land.
• Contract workers are still putting manure to teaks planting holes at new land.
• The guardian houses are still in progress and it is made by expert workers. These houses for 4 families.
• The motor track is still done by special workers team and now have been passed or used by motor cycle to bring any material like fertilizer, etc.
• Spraying seageagrass still done by special team at new project.
• Basic fertilizers; Urea, SP-36 Kcl and dolomite, etc will be immediately done next week after there is fund  from Goldteak has been released and the cultivation plan will be done in December 2008  to January 2009.

General Condition of Land:

Teak leaves have started to reappear at this rainy season on both project 1 & 2.

On update Village

H. Apip has given about 15 truck stones about 105 m3 stones to Cibening village. This stone is to harden the road along the way at Cibening village and also at muddy road. All expenses covered by H. Apip. This is for preparing the transportation of seed also other materials to new project.

On update Guardians:

• Zaini has given 1 sheep to Cibening guardians for the Idul Qurban and this meat was allotted to all workers.
• Kudil guardian’s wife has born a nice baby girl. We have helped them about Rp. 500.000.-

New Works on Land :

1. Guardian Caci & Ajat are still doing spraying seageagrass with herbicides roundup.
2. Guardians; Parid,Kudil, Jaji, Oleh, Maman, Kusnadi, Suma & Solihin  doing fertilization to teaks using Urea, Kcl, SP36 & dan dolomite.
3. Guardians; Aji, Bana, Majun, Abah (new guardian replaced Saep) delivering fertilizer to each teak trees.
4. This regular fertilization done every 6 months once and expected growth of this trees will be better. This fertilization will helps stimulate vigorous root growth and crown formation of the young teak trees.

Activities at new project :

1. Farm for Durian plantation have been given manure to holes plants and ready for cultivated in December 2008 or after there is a lot of rain.
2. Holes plants for the Acacia of Mangium and Mahagony are giving manure by Workers now.
3. Guardians still making hole plants for teak trees and step by step fertilizer/ manure have been put down in holes plants.
4. Road for the motor track still in progress and doing by special team and motor track which have been made about as long as 1 km.
5. House for guardians have started doing by expert workers and now still doing cut and fill at the location for that house also setup all the wood for house frame.

General Condition of Land :

The teaks leaf  which attacked by Grayak caterpillar last weeks have been growing again and the  caterpillar already dead after sprayed by decis

On update Village :

Because condition of road to Cibening very muddy in this the rains hence H. Apip giving 10 truck of stones to concret the road and done by special workers which is expert also assisting by daily workers from local society. This is to make easy delivery all the material to Cibening project also bring the teaks seedling, Mahagony, Akasia, Durian etc in near future.

On update Guardians:

Guardians have exploited empty space at fruits plantation to planting nut and sweet corn. This is just for eating.

Guardian Saep has resign for moment because he will build his house at the village and I have changing him with new guardian name is Abah.
