Goldteak has opened another 20 ha at Cibening area, next to the previous area, the clearing has been done since January 2009. At this time Goldteak not only planted the teak trees but also fruit trees like durian, mango and oranges (about 5 ha). The Solomon teak has been chosen as it has the best quality and the best price in the world as well.
It was a challenge to Goldteak to plant the trees in the middle of February, there is still a lot of rain and the land was slippery. The seeding truck was skidded/slipped on the muddy and wed narrow road up the plantation.
Goldteak prepare a water supply by placed several water tanks in the new area and this can help the distribution of the water.
Goldteak has build another 2 houses for the guardians and 2 gazebos that can be used as a shelter during the day. The houses has completed with the electricity and water supply.
There are 1 supervisorand 7 guardians had been employed since the planting finished and they started to maintain the young trees.
General condition of the trees:
Some of the seeding has been planted and the condition of the trees are good and healthy. The other trees are still waiting in the seeding nursery to be planted at the end of this Month or early March.
The condition of the land is good, because it has opened and cleaned. One of the workers’ activity is to take care the holes before the seeding is taken from the polybag.
